Daddy Issues (Part 1?)

I'm leaving the door open for this to become a series of posts. But for now, I'm just recapping where I'm at now in my journey in meeting my biological father.
Next week I'll be in San Diego for the first time since my mother moved us to Illinois, where she was from, before I was old enough to remember. I was born in San Diego, as the result of a fling my mom had with her married doctor. She couldn't go through with the abortion, so here I am. I don't know if he knows I exist, or if he cares. But since I had his name, profession, location and age-range, I was able to track him down with relative ease just by Googling him.

Fatherless Day Reflection: Random Thoughts I Have This Time of Year

T. J.'s bike chain routinely ejects itself from its toothy home on the crank of his bike and leaves him sad. Last month alone I probably reattached his chain a half-dozen times. The Father Heart of God: Setting the Lonely in Families

Osheta and I just returned from Minneapolis, MN where we attended the Evangelical Covenant Church's Assessment Center for prospective church planters. We were so blessed by the experience and we are humbled and excited to join the East Coast Conference as church planters.

During the assessment, each candidate was asked to deliver a 10-minute sermon. The sermon I wrote and shared is on a subject so close to my heart, I wanted to also share it here on this blog. It is entitled: The Father Heart of God: Setting the Lonely in Families
