"T. C. Moore - Transformed" by Leibniz Alexandre

I became friends with Leibniz Alexandre when we were co-workers at the Cambridgeside Galleria Apple Store. He is a photography student and asked if I would be the subject of a project in one of his courses. The assignment was to tell someone's story in photos, video, and audio. I agreed and he shadowed me for a few days. He came over to our house and watched me put the kids to bed. He went with us trick-or-treating on Halloween. He joined us for a communion service we held the night before Election Day. And he went with me to a prayer gathering of ministers from all over Boston. After that, he filmed me telling parts of my story. When he had everything he needed, he put it all together in this brief video. It's the story of how the love of Jesus demonstrated in a community of believers taught me what true family was, transformed my life, and started me on a journey to church planting. Enjoy!

The Father Heart of God: Setting the Lonely in Families

Osheta and I just returned from Minneapolis, MN where we attended the Evangelical Covenant Church's Assessment Center for prospective church planters. We were so blessed by the experience and we are humbled and excited to join the East Coast Conference as church planters.

During the assessment, each candidate was asked to deliver a 10-minute sermon. The sermon I wrote and shared is on a subject so close to my heart, I wanted to also share it here on this blog. It is entitled: The Father Heart of God: Setting the Lonely in Families

Transitioning Well

The changing of the seasons from summer to fall is an exciting time in Boston. Along the Charles river trees are lit like torches with autumn colors. Families go apple-picking and soon they will choose pumpkins to carve. All this takes place while the city is transformed by the influx of a quarter million college students. There is energy in the air.

MooreTour2010

We are now a week into our epic road trip vacation. This summer Osheta and I decided to visit both our families (Texas and Illinois) as well as friends in New Orleans ...and Disney World---all in one trip. Ambitious, we know. But so far, it has been a blast.

Being the geek that I am, I am chronicling the entire adventure via video, photos, and the web. I have created a dedicated website/blog for the vacation where I post photos, video and descriptions. I am also uploading photos to Facebook.

Camping Trip to Bear Brook State Park

This Memorial Day weekend, Osheta and I took the whole family camping at Bear Brook State Park in New Hampshire with the crews from Cambridgeport Baptist Church and the Greenhaus Christian Community. We all had a great time. The kids played in the lake, fished (very briefly), roasted and ate hot dogs and smores, and played games.

Here is a collection of clips sliced together into four parts:

RIP Ethan the Betta, Welcome Angus the Betta

Angus

So, Ethan the Betta is deceased. He went to live in that big fish tank in the sky. We will miss Ethan. But we now have a new addition to the family: Angus the Betta. His name is Angus because he's so beefy.

Ethan the Betta

Ethan the beta

Today the Moore family grew by one. We added our first pet since moving to Boston. His name is Ethan and he's a betta. Tyson is technically responsible for him, but we all view him as our pet. We picked up a small tank, a castle, and some betta food and hooked him up. We think he's got it made.

Special thanks to Alice Kim for giving us lil' Ethan.
